Weight Loss and Acupuncture

How can Acupuncture help? One six-month study had three groups which all lost weight. Two groups exercised aerobically
three times a week, limited their calories in the same amounts. One group got acupuncture and the other did not. Obviously
both groups lost weight, but the group receiving the acupuncture lost almost a third more. This implies acupuncture helped
the bodies systems enhance the weight loss. The body needs the pumps primed with exercise to have the acupuncture be
the most effective. The last group got acupuncture alone and they lost the least weight. One has to try to lose weight for
the acupuncture to help.
In most situations, acupuncture and herbal medicine can increase the amount of weight lost
while trying. To lose weight, basically, you have to burn more than you take in. Some medications, stress, hormonal or metabolic
disorders, poor food combining, emotional self destruction, and food allergies can block the usual efforts of exercise and
There are many long term studies on weight loss. Not all diets work the same on everyone. People
who lost significant amounts of weight and left it off after five years tended to become fitness instructors, balanced their
calories, and tended to use weight watchers and other groups. They occasionally cheated and at some point looked in the mirror
and hated what they saw more than loved what they ate. Not all dieters fit in this category but many do.
I lived in
Japan for many years. It was rare to see an overweight person. In fact the Japanese live the longest in the world. Decades
of study reveals they eat better, less food overall, more nutrient-dense food, exercise daily in everyday life but don't
over exerciser. Americans often simply eat too much and do too little.
All the people I saw lose a significant amount
of weight changed every aspect of their life. How they ate, socialized, lived, worked and more. They did a complete overhaul
of lifestyle and living. Although occasionally I have seen "nervous eaters" become relaxed with acupuncture. They
stop "eating the kitchen" and therefore lose weight.
To attain ones goals, one needs to commit to a long term
plan that puts many team members on board to assist. That includes varied exercise, aerobics, acupuncture, herbal medicine
and more. The more people and modalities the better the results.
